How to Grow Your Business Without Social Media
This blog post contains affiliate links, meaning I earn a commission if you purchase from them. I promise to only recommend things I use and love.
Good news: if social media is not your thing, you don’t need it to grow your business.
The bad news: you still have to market your business.
I know, I know. It sounds so fun to just work on our business, the thing we love, and not have to focus on marketing. But in order to actually have a business, we do need to market.
So here are 5 things you can do to grow your business without stepping foot on social media.
#1 — Participate in Bundles & Summits
This is my favorite way to grow a business with or without social media. You get in front of other people’s audiences and can share your business with dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of new people.
Bundles are where many people come together to share a product for free that’s usually paid. Attendees can sign up for these free bundles and get access to all of the participants’ free products, and everyone gets to grow their list.
Summits are online events where different speakers come together and give presentations around a specific topic or theme.
Both are great options for growing your reputation and email list, which will help you make more money and grow your business.

#2 — Focus on Email Marketing
You may not need social media, but you do need an email list. An email list is usually the biggest revenue driver of any business. It’s where you’ll connect with your audience, which will be even more important if you’re not on social media.
Create a high-quality lead magnet (a freebie that you give in exchange for email addresses) and create weekly emails to keep your audience informed and engaged.
#3 — Create Long-Form Content
Long-form content is, well, longer content. Blogs, podcasts, and YouTube videos fall under this category. This type of content is evergreen, meaning people still find it long after it’s posted, and provides a lot of value to your audience through the content. You may not want to do YouTube if you want to steer clear of social media, but blogs and podcasts are also great options.
#4 — Tap Into Word of Mouth
Two words: referral program. Create an affiliate or referral program where people can share about you and earn a commission when someone buys or books. People are often happy to recommend you to friends and peers, but offering that commission gives them a little extra push to do so.
Word of mouth will be invaluable to your business, especially if you’re not on social media. Even being on social media, word of mouth has contributed to 70% of new clients for me.
#5 — Utilize SEO
This strategy alone won’t grow your business, but it can help. Essentially, this is a focus on keywords. Create content that people will be searching for so that you come up in search results. Here are a few simple ways you can get started with SEO:
- Use Pinterest. Type in your topic in the Pinterest search bar and see what comes up as top results. You won’t copy them, of course, but use them to inform your own blog posts, YouTube videos, podcasts, etc.
- Use Google. Type in your topic on Google and see what results come up. Then, scroll down to the bottom to see related searches.
- Use an SEO tool like Ubersuggest (affiliate link). They have a free plan you can use to find some good words and topics as well.
Bonus Idea — Use Pinterest
Okay, so this kind of falls under social media, but it’s really more of a search engine. Plus, it doesn’t have the interaction element that other social media does, and the content lives a lot longer (years and years) rather than disappearing from the feed within days.
I hope this gives you some ideas for how you can grow your business without social media. Or heck, even if you do have social media, these are still great things to implement in your business.
